Fair Isle Slouch Hat Finished

Taking the Hydrangea Fair Isle Slouch Hat:


Modifying the colors with these Jamieson wools:

And one wool hank dyed with marigolds:


This is the finished tam:

It is a bit slouchy on the manny head.  I played around with colors using the color wheel, and it proved to be a good exercise in knitting with differing strands of colored yarn.  It will be a warm hat and a labor of love.

  1. it looks like a complicated pattern Nancy and a professional result, I like the original mauves best only because they are my favourite colours, but yours looks fun, warm and stylish too.

  5. I like the yellow and blue, but then my school colors were silver and blue....I have yet to try ant colorwork!

  9. I know the Jamieson Wools is intended for colorwork, thanks to a friend who studies wool and sheep.

    We are near Fort Collins.
