Who Writes This Blog?

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog.  It is a work in progress and contains my adventures, to name a few, in crafting, art, fine art, travel, volunteerism, knitting, crochet, dogs, therapy dogs, and health care (I was a health care administrator in a former life with a Master's degree in Health Administration and a doctoral student in Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill).

My husband writes a political blog about Living The Grand Life in Colorado and our little valley. You can read if you click on the link.  Beware!--he is very conservative, so if you have a liberal bent, just ignore this little fact about us.

Life for me is not complete without Scrabble play on a daily basis.  Click on the tab labeled "Scrabble Stuff" and all the information about competitive (and even kitchen table) play is there.

Volunteering is a big part of my week. Libby the Therapy Dog lives with us in our house; she is an 11 pound Malti-poo with a big heart.  We visit hospice patients one day a week, and our local hospital on Friday afternoons.  Having a therapy dog is part of my pay-back to God and the universe for the privilege of seeing my daughter's happiness when therapy dogs came to see her over the many years when she was hospitalized at Children's Hospital in Denver, CO.

I have two adult daughters.  The oldest was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalous.  You can read more about that here.  She was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer in 2011 and is undergoing chemotherapy.  Like her, I had a battle with breast cancer, but am now cancer free.

Colors and yarns and fabrics make me happy.

Please introduce yourself.  So happy to meet you!
