Escapees from Squash Patch

You may recall last year on this post when the New Greenhouse was displayed.

Now here we are in August with God and Gene growing tomatoes that are producing daily, squash in abundance, and sweet corn ready to eat almost daily.  Beans are almost ready to harvest.  Also, our neighbors' good will is being tested by ample offerings from the hothouse and garden.  Thanks to Paul down the street, he has provided excellent sweet beets to go along with our other healthy vegetables.

  1. Hi Nancy, your gardens are fantastic. What beautiful squash and zucchini plants! My gardens are parched, have lost some things. But, I'm just going to chill and refresh them as it cools down for the autumn.

This is a wonderful post-love the cosmos too!

Hope you and your family are doing well. I really loved your Scotland photos...a wonderful trip! See you soon, hugs!♥

  2. Yes the heat has made for good year here too for squash, sweetcorn, courgettes, tomatoes and cucumbers... it's so lovely! I didn't get any of these last year...
I've had to make an extension for my squashes too!

  4. My garden is growing like a weed-but next year-NO GOURDS! Oh my-they are crawling over everything, and have to be cut off so the other stuff can breathe! I do love going out each morning and picking greens, beans, cukes and tomatoes to eat for breakfast.
    You have a lovely garden....

  8. Wow! Your garden looks lovely. Fresh produce is wonderful. Our garden is doing pretty good as well but I think yours looks more lush. We are enjoying food from the garden though.

  11. Beautiful, fruitful garden! I love veggie gardens :)

I see you posted a picture of Peter Rabbit. Peter has been helping himself to my tomatoes at night. Just nibbles one and moves on to the next, tastier one. Ugh. I guess, minus carrots and lettuce, tomatoes will do...

  12. My garden is hit or miss this year. A bad summer for tomatoes, I fear, but a good one for beans. Now I'm planning my fall garden. I hope it does better!

Got your most recent comment--my dad *is* on anxiety meds, but my mom is going to try to convince him to up them. Clearly, he could use a little more help.

    Thanks! frances
